The SM-HCAI Lab is a laboratory for Human-Centered AI (HCAI) research at Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, Rep. of Korea. We focus on developing intelligent user interfaces that optimize human-AI interaction and collaboration by considering both the technical characteristics of AI and the cognitive and social characteristics of Humans. Our lab aims to create AI technologies that are beneficial for both lay users and domain experts through an interdisciplinary perspective that encompasses human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, computer science, ergonomics, design, and cognitive science.

- Graduate Applicants
Our lab recruits full-time master’s and doctoral students. Your undergraduate major can be in engineering, social sciences, or design; however, the minimum requirements include knowledge and skills in software development, data processing, and AI/ML modeling.
- Undergraduate Applicants
Our lab wants undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing master’s or doctoral programs in this lab. Additionally, applicants must be in their senior year(or above) and have completed courses related to AI, ML, and UI/UX.
